Winter ferry photo sessions in Seattle have quickly become one of my favorite things in recent years. They feel so appropriately cinematic for the usual overcast weather in the city and they’re a great avenue for getting gorgeous engagement photos when there’s rain in the forecast.

Every once in a while there comes a session that is so much fun and so freeing that it completely reignites my love for photography and working with people. The session with Claire and our amazing models, Keola and Matty, ended up being one of those.

This ended up being one of my favorite photo sessions ever, largely because it just felt like an afternoon of hanging out doing fun things together! That’s my number one tip for couples planning their engagement session, especially those who want a more cinematic documentary look to their photos: make a date out of it.
